Dear AdriaArray participants,
The recording of AdriaArray data will be completed by July 2026 - so later this year. The processing of the data set can start thus soon. We would like to share with you several pieces of information:
- CRGs
As discussed at the AdriaArray Workshop in Sopron, we ask you to renew your participation in the various Collaborative Research Groups (CRGs). You can find more information on the CRGs at the AdriaArray web page (https://orfeus.readthedocs.io/en/latest/adria_array_main.html).
If you are interested in one or several of the following topics, please write an email to the respective contact person, declare your interest in the CRG and describe briefly in two or three sentences the work you are planning to do. We ask you to do so by Friday 24 April. Please, do it also in case you have already been listed in one or more of the CRGs. We want to renew the lists of participants completely from scratch. At the EGU AdriaArray Splinter meeting (May 7, 19:00, room 2.83) we will report on the outcome of our poll. It will be the basis for future CRG activities.
Seismicity & Seismic Sources: Gesa Petersen (gesa.petersen@gfz.de)
Body wave tomography: Claudia Piromallo (claudia.piromallo@ingv.it)
Receiver functions: Daniel Kalmar (kalmar.daniel@epss.hun-ren.hu)
Surface wave and ambient noise tomography: Irene Molinari (irene.molinari@ingv.it)
Ambient noise sources: Jordi Diaz (jdiaz@geo3bcn.csic.es)
Shear wave splitting and seismic anisotropy: Silvia Pondrelli (silvia.pondrelli@ingv.it)
Linking geophysical observables and geodynamic modelling: Thomas Meier (thomas.meier@ifg.uni-kiel.de)
Please discuss your participation in the various CRGs also with your AdriaArray representatives and feel free to suggest additional CRGs by writing to us. Please, contact us in case of any questions.
- list of participants on the webpage
As discussed at the AdA Workshop in Sopron: those who would like to see their names on the AdA webpage, please, write an email to Gergana (ggeorgieva@phys.uni-sofia.bg) and Petr in cc (petr.kolinsky@ig.cas.cz). Your name could be added to the webpage only with your approval. First, check if the name is maybe already there. At the moment, there are 200+ names, about half of the number of the AdA participants.
- virtual network
Whoever uses the _ADARRAY virtual network, please, drop an email to Petr (petr.kolinsky@ig.cas.cz). On behalf of the ORFEUS User Advisory Group, we are collecting arguments for enhancing the performance of virtual networks - not only for AdriaArray, but also for the future. You can also share your experience with the _ADARRAY (non)functioning (one sentence is enough).
- ORFEUS Forum
We strongly recommend everybody to register for the ORFEUS forum to receive further updates on AdriaArray and the seismological community in Europe in general. There is an open category on AdriaArray at the forum. Use it for communicating AdA-related matters. Note, that everyone also from outside can read your posts.
- repository of the Sopron workshop
There is a repository of contributions from the AdA workshop in Sopron. Please, upload your slides or poster in case you have not done so yet.

- special issue
All papers of the special issue of Annals of Geophysics are available for download here:
https://www.annalsofgeophysics.eu/index.php/annals/issue/view/627
- list of publications
Please, report your AdA-related papers to Gergana (ggeorgieva@phys.uni-sofia.bg) so that she can add the link to the webpage.
Thank you! We are looking forward to discussing the processing of AdriaArray data with you!
Best regards,
Petr and Thomas
