Dear ORFEUS community (apologies for cross-posting),
If you work on intraplate seismicity or low-strain tectonic regions, and plan to attend the EGU General Assembly in Vienna (3–8 May 2026), we invite you to contribute to our session:
TS6.1 “Understanding Low-strain and Intraplate regions seismogenic sources and Quaternary deformation”
(co-organized by GM7 Geomorphology and SM9 Seismology)
Keynote: Yann Klinger (IPGP, Paris)
We aim to bring together different disciplines to advance our understanding of intraplate deformation and seismogenic sources. We welcome contributions from a broad range of approaches, including (but not limited to):
• Observational and statistical seismology
• Seismic tomography and earthquake source studies
• Paleoseismology and Quaternary faulting
• Geochronology, geophysics, and remote sensing/geodesy
• Indirect evidence of seismicity (e.g., liquefaction, cave deposits, landslide patterns)
Abstract Deadline: 15 January 2026
Session link: Session TS6.1
This is a great opportunity to present your research and connect with colleagues across disciplines in a friendly environment. We especially encourage Early Career Researchers to submit abstracts.
Looking forward to seeing you in Vienna!
Best regards,
Miguel Neves
