Expired TLS certificate for `eida.geo.uib`

The TLS certificate has expired for eida.geo.uib.

Hi,
I can see UIB-NORSAR services are offline from Monday, Sep 18, does anybody know the time schedule of its maintenance?

Dear @vecsey,

UIB-NORSAR services are actually not offline. The issue here is the TLS certificate for eida.geo.uib that expired. You should be still able to access the services using good old http, e.g. http://eida.geo.uib.no/fdsnws/station/1/version.
Our colleagues at UIB-NORSAR have been informed and soon all the resources should be again available via https.

Best regards,
Jarek

Hi,
Sorry, I was leading workshop since Wed and not reading emails until now. I forwarded request to our IT dept. Hopefully to be fixed soon.

Cheers,
Jan

Hi Jarek and Jan,

thank you @jarek.bienkowski @jan.michalek very much, the UIB-NORSAR node looks okay from my point of view now, which is excellent.

Best regards,
Luděk

Hi,

Indeed, eida.geo.uib certificate has been renewed. I am now going to refresh the caches so networks/stations information appears on the node page, but it might take full day.

Thanks,
Jarek

The problem is that the certificate is always valid for two years (and the period might become even shorter in the future due to security) and is issued by a third party. Then it needs to be installed on the server. UiB is investigating options for (semi-) automatic certificate renewal. But in case you have the same issue in two years then you know why and that we haven’t managed to find the solution.
